Installation of Posts

Due to recent questions of how to install the posts of our fencing, I decided to type up a guide on how to install our post. I hope this helps all our customers out.

After each post has been positioned and marked, use an auger or post hole digger to dig holes. If using 5 x 5 post use a 12” diameter hole. If using 4 x 4 posts use a 10” diameter hole. Holes should be 36” deep or below the frost line.

Fill the bottom of the hole with 2” of gravel.

Position post with 2” of clearance between the bottom rail and the ground. Fill the hole around the post with concrete up to 2”-4” from the top of the hole.

Level and square off.

Next week, we're going to be buying all of our fencing, but my husband wants to get all the digging done now. The reason we're getting a new fence is because our dogs have been digging under and chewing our old fence. We know that the posts have to be a little deeper, but can you do the post and fence at the same low level? We want to make sure that our dogs won't be able to dig their way out of our backyard.
